Starting a white student union on campus?

The college that I go to has a Black Student Union, and I agree that they should have one because they are the minority and I know at times they may feel out of place so that is a place where they can feel comfortable. But honestly why can't we have a white student union? Most white people now-a-days fear the black man simply because of the violence and crimes that are portrayed in the media. When walking down the street at night and you see a group of black males, as a white person, we turn and walk the other way. Now majority of the time nothing will happen but since the beginning of this academic year in college there has been 3 shootings in which people have died in (all the gunmen were black), 10 rapes/sexual assaults(all done by a black man or group of black men), and 4 hate crimes in which a group of black males physically beat a white man simply because he was white. Now we may be the majority but I still feel like we need a white student union just so we can feel safe just like the BSU members do. Can anyone agree with this?
